Planning for Your Allergies

Allergic reactions are your body’s way of trying to protect you from things that it thinks could be harmful. But sometimes, while well-meaning and a sign of a healthy immune system, it can be bothersome. So here are little things you can do to keep your allergies at bay:

  1. Use face masks. These can be found at your local hardware stores, and probably at your local drug stores, too. You should wear them whenever you’re cleaning your house so that you won’t be irritated by dust particles. You can also wear them when taking public transport.
  2. Avoid having carpets or big rugs in your home. While you can try your best to keep these clean, you can’t avoid the fact that small particles and mites can hide in those fibres and really get stuck. These could irritate your nose and cause your allergies to act up.
  3. Consider rhinoplasty. If your allergies are really bothering you that much and you have no idea what to do, it may be time for a structural change. Sometimes altering the nasal passage can improve your breathing and the general flow of air in your body, so you may want to consider it.
