Dealing with Stress

While some people work better when stressed and under pressure – it can be a good motivator – in the long run, it’s detrimental to your health. It can lead to premature baldness (which you can solve: http://www.alaxis.sg/fue-hair-transplant-singapore/), fatigue, and illness. So here are some things you can try to relieve your stress:

  1. Regulate your caffeine. Some people need the extra push and kick that caffeine can provide, but it also stresses your heart and can make you more anxious and paranoid. So only take caffeine when you absolutely need it.
  2. Don’t be a control freak. There are things that you can take control of in your life, but there are a lot more things that you can’t. So when it comes to those things, do what you can but don’t be too hard on yourself if things don’t go your way. Most things won’t. Now, you can choose to go sit in a corner and sulk or you can choose to move on to other, more productive things. Your choice.
  3. Go for a massage. Sometimes the stress can lead to actual tension in your body, and this can cause aches and pain, making you stressed. This stress can make you more tense, and the cycle goes on. So, pamper yourself once in a while and go for a massage. You’ll feel much more relaxed and your mood will improve.

Planning for Your Allergies

Allergic reactions are your body’s way of trying to protect you from things that it thinks could be harmful. But sometimes, while well-meaning and a sign of a healthy immune system, it can be bothersome. So here are little things you can do to keep your allergies at bay:

  1. Use face masks. These can be found at your local hardware stores, and probably at your local drug stores, too. You should wear them whenever you’re cleaning your house so that you won’t be irritated by dust particles. You can also wear them when taking public transport.
  2. Avoid having carpets or big rugs in your home. While you can try your best to keep these clean, you can’t avoid the fact that small particles and mites can hide in those fibres and really get stuck. These could irritate your nose and cause your allergies to act up.
  3. Consider rhinoplasty. If your allergies are really bothering you that much and you have no idea what to do, it may be time for a structural change. Sometimes altering the nasal passage can improve your breathing and the general flow of air in your body, so you may want to consider it. Find out more about it here: http://www.alaxis.sg/rhinoplasty-cartilage-implant/

Dealing with Depression

Depression can be tough, especially if you’re clinically depressed. Either way, when you’re feeling down it’s difficult to function normally in your everyday life. Here are a few tips that will hopefully pick your mood back up:

  1. Find a hobby. Sometimes finding something that really stimulates you and gets you excited can distract you from whatever’s making you feel depressed. After getting really immersed into something for a long time, you may even be able to look at what’s depressing you from a different light and feel better about it. It can be a lot of fun, too, if you get a friend or family member to join you.
  2. Get organized. Sometimes when you’re down, you feel like staying in bed all day and being completely unproductive. There’s nothing wrong with that. Everybody has those days. But after a while, all the responsibilities you’ve neglected pile up and looking at the workload can depress you more. So try managing your time and organizing things so that the task of managing your tasks doesn’t seem too daunting.
  3. Indulge in sweets once in a while. It’s good to treat yourself to something that you like that may not necessarily be the healthiest thing for you – especially when you’ve done something you can be proud of. Have a bar of chocolate or a tub of ice cream once in a while. Whatever floats your boat. Just remember: always in moderation.
  4. Make positive changes. Do things to yourself that make you feel good. Try that haircut you’ve always wanted. If you want to try breast augmentation, go ahead! (Find out more about that here: http://www.alaxis.sg/breast-augmentation-miami-fat-transfer/) Ask out the person you like. Who knows? You might be even happier with the results.

Some Self-Help Tips to Try

They say nobody’s perfect. Yes, while this is true, we always strive to get as close as we can. If this is especially true for you, then here are a few tips you might want to try:

  1. Be the change. Thinking negative thoughts or focusing on the negative things about your life or your self won’t change thing or solve the problem. It will only make you feel bad. Try to think: “I can fix it!” If you can’t do something yourself, ask for help. If you aren’t happy with your weight, eat healthier and exercise! Don’t like the way your nose looks? Have something done! (Find out more about that here: http://www.alaxis.sg/nose-filler-permanent/) Don’t complain. Do something.
  2. Stop and look. Look at all the things in your life that bring you joy and happiness. Appreciate them. Take a look at even your surroundings. Nature. Life. It’s amazing that you’re alive! Once in a while it’s good to remind yourself that.
  3. Take small, manageable steps to removing bad habits. Saying things like “I promise never to do (insert bad habit here) again!” only makes you feel worse when you do break it. So, stepping stones. Tell yourself not to do it for the next 24 hours. Then try 3 days. Then a week. Before you know it, you’ll be rid of that habit for good. The key is gradual, manageable change.

Simple and Easy Beauty Tips

Many people say that beauty is only skin deep, but it’s much more than that. Feeling good about how you look on the outside is great for your confidence. It also reflects a love for one’s self. So don’t be afraid to take some time and clean up. Hopefully, these suggestions can help you get started on your own beauty regimen:

  1. Moisturize your lips. Draw attention to them not with dry, cracking skin but by using lip balm. It’s attractive. For the girls, try using a lipstick or lip gloss that’s just a few shades lighter and pinker than your natural colour. It’s subtle but draws attention to them.
  2. Wash your face before going to sleep. This will remove all the dirt that may have stuck to your face throughout the day. This will prevent breakouts. Plus, you’ll feel much better going to sleep feeling that your face is clean.
  3. Don’t shampoo too often. You should shampoo when it feels oily or if you’ve sweat a lot during that day to remove the oil and the dirt that sticks, but not more than that because you might be removing the natural oils that your scalp produces to nourish your hair.
  4. Know which parts of your face to play down and highlight. Got blemishes? Use concealer. Like your double eyelids? Highlight them with a light eye shadow. (If you don’t have double eyelids, here’s  a procedure you could have to get them: http://www.alaxis.sg/double-eyelid-incisional/) Got long lashes? Use mascara. Don’t be afraid to experiment with your make-up. You might find a look that makes you feel beautiful.

Handling Your Allergies

Do your allergies act up unpredictably? This can be a huge problem. It’s bothersome and can prevent you from functioning properly (i.e. working, socializing). What’s worse, they can get worse at any time. Here are a few things you can try to handle your allergies:
  1. Have rhinoplasty. If you have your cartilages reshaped it can improve air flow through your nose and, therefore, help with your sinuses. Find out more about rhinoplasty here: http://www.alaxis.sg/rhinoplasty-cartilage-implant/
  2. Find out what you’re allergic to. You can take an allergy test to find out, in case you’re not sure. Also, try to observe your surroundings. If you only sneeze when there are dogs around, then it might be safe to assume that you’re allergic to them.
  3. Find out the reason for your itching. Is it an allergic reaction or is it because you’ve been bitten by bugs? Or do you have hives? Is it physiological or psychological? Are you feeling nervous about something?
  4. Consult your doctor. If your allergies are really getting out of hand, it’s always good to have a talk with your doctor. Talking to them about your daily routine might shed some light on the problem. Plus, they’ll be able to prescribe the right medication for your symptoms.

Cosmetic Surgery

Deciding to have cosmetic surgery for whatever reason is a big decision to make. There are operations that can help one gain confidence such as breast augmentation (find out more about that here: http://www.alaxis.sg/breast-augmentation-miami-fat-transfer/), hair transplant, rhinoplasty and more. Still, you’ll want to find out the following things:

  1. If you have a clinic in mind, do research to find out if there have been any complaints from patients. Find out exactly what happened and then decide accordingly if you should continue with this clinic or pick another.
  2. Ask the surgeon how long it will take for you to recover and what antibiotics you might have to take and for how long.
  3. Find out more about the procedure itself. Try to figure out how it works and ask as many questions as you can so you know you’re dealing with knowledgeable people and that you’re not being tricked.
  4. Find out more about the surgeon. It’s better to find out about their education background, their history and what feedback they’ve received from other patients. You should always know who you’re dealing with.

Remember: It’s always better to be safe than sorry. There’s no such thing as too much research. Find out all you can before making a decision so that you can be confident that your choices are informed.
